Arming/disarming
The i-mob system utilise the ignition circuit whereby the system 'arms' once the ignition is turned off and then ‘disarms’ once the ignition is turned on.
Please also see the Key Theft protection section for other options.
Key Theft Identification – Convenient SMS and/or Vocal Programming/Setting
i-mob systems have the ability to recognise the use of stolen keys.
Owners may manually 'arm' the system overriding the automatic disarming that would normally occur when the ignition was turned on.
This manual 'arming' may be achieved by the use of a simple template text message or by a voice call to the system. Whilst in this state any use of the vehicles keys or indeed ‘hot wiring’ will result in an immediate alert.
Lift/Tilt Sensor
Every i-mob system features a complex, digital, lift/tilt sensor which is automatically activated 150 seconds after the ignition is switched off.
Owing to its digital operation the vehicle may be parked at any angle. Once activated the sensor takes this position as its standard. Any subsequent variance +/- 2.5° from this standard will trigger the sensor and generate an alert call.
The sensor is automatically deactivated immediately once the ignition is turned on.
Speed alarm & request
The i-mob TT4 is able to give current speed reports via voice call and/or SMS. It is also possible to program the i-mob to alert the customer only if the vehicle reaches or exceeds a particular speed. This feature can be enabled/disabled via SMS or voice call.
Internal Back Up Battery
All i-mob systems feature an internal back up battery.
The system will constantly monitor its permanent power supply. If this supply is disconnected then it will automatically switch to its internal battery and transmit an alert call to warn of the disconnection.
The status of the power supply is also monitored and if this supply falls below 9.5v an alert call will again be generated.
Indicator outputs
On the i-mob TT4 once immobilisation function has be executed the rear indicators flash.
Remote immobilisation capability
i-mob TT3 system features advanced immobilisation.
In standard configuration the system executes the immobilisation in the following way;
1. First Ignition Off – ensures the vehicle cannot be restarted.
With i-mob systems it is NOT possible to immobilise a moving vehicle.
Communications by voice and/or SMS
For convenience and ease of use, i-mob systems can communicate with any outside party utilising voice calls, SMS or both together. This enables i-mob systems to interact with their owners allowing them to issue commands to the system directly from the key pad of the phone. All systems are PIN code protected to ensure authorised use only.
Phone Book with SMS options
The i-mob system can be programmed with 3 customer phone numbers. These numbers can be set to receive alarm calls via voice call and optionally via SMS as well. In the event that the customer is not available to receive the alarm call the system will call the monitoring centre.
The TT4 system also has a dedicated number for the monitoring centre. In the event of the panic button or the accident sensor being activated the system skips all customer numbers and calls directly to the monitoring centre.
SMS alerts include time/date, location and status confirmation
SMS alerts are directed to any SMS activated numbers in the systems phone book. The SMS’s are despatched simultaneous immediately prior to the first voice call.
The SMS will contain confirmation of the type of alert being issued, the time and date of the alert (GMT) and the position and speed of the vehicle at that moment.
This information may be retained by the owner for an insurer or Police authority.
GPS position & time date confirmation
The i-mob system provides accurate position reports in the form of longitude and latitude. These co-ordinates can be entered in to either the i-mob converter program (for use with Google earth) or i-mob Locator program (for use with Microsoft AutoRoute) see 'Customer area' for free downloads.
The GPS data also automatically provides the system with highly accurate time and date information (GMT) to be included within any alerts and the history log.
Password Alarm
All i-mob units require the use of a PIN code in order to access and control the System. This PIN code is decided by the owner.
If three consecutive attempt are made to access the system using the wrong PIN code the call will be automatically disconnected and an alert will be sent to the owner and/or monitoring service advising them of the situation.
Two Way Emergency Communications
A covert microphone and speaker are mounted within the vehicle. The microphone is automatically opened when any alert is generated thereby allowing the recipient of the call to hear what is said inside the vehicle. The recipient may activate the speaker on demand to change to two-way communication thereby allowing the occupant of the vehicle to hear them.
This communication channel is essential for the maximum effect of the safety features described below.
SOS/Hi-jack button
A covert SOS/Hi-jack button is mounted inside the vehicle within easy reach of the driver. When the button is pressed twice an immediate Emergency alert is generated, this is directed to the monitoring centre.
By the use of the two-way communication capability the operator may gain valuable information on the incident and pass this to the appropriate authorities. This information may assist to ensure the situation is brought to a safe and speedy conclusion.
Accident sensor
A sophisticated impact sensor will recognise an impact with a severity of 2+g.
Upon recognition of the impact the system will generate a Accident Alert that is directed to the monitoring centre. The operator may then activate the speaker to communicate with the vehicle occupants to understand the extent of the damage, any injuries, the level of assistance required from the emergency services. From the GPS system they will be able to determine the vehicles exact location.
